Lara suggested we could take a walk along to the Singapore river and pointed out to me, an intersection between buildings (the sunlight area near the start of this video). Her advice was to head to that intersection and then go left.
Well my understanding of which way we should walk was wrong and we went along a footpath that was somewhat barren. Not an area with pleasant views, just buildings and vehicles whizzing by. Eventually we came across a canal, not the River Valley we expected. We turned onto the canal path that was at right angles to the road we were walking along and found a covered seated area.
The iPhone identified this area as Tanglin. There was a guy sleeping in the shade of this rest area and in a building nearby, it sounded like a school or kindergarten by the cacophony of active kids.
After a rest we walked further along the canal path to cross a bridge and come back on the other side
The building, that expands out higher up, looked ugly to me. Parhaps an attempt to be innovative and stylish - hopefully a short lived trend.
The walk back became a trudge as it was hot and there no real beauty in the path I had chosen. However the coolness of the fountain at the entrance way to No 2 Leonie Hill Road and the lobby inside was a welcome sight after the heat of being on the streets.
